Ekkathat

Ekkathat, born in the year seventeen oh nine, was a prominent figure in Thai history, serving as a sovereign, politician, and military officer. He ascended to the throne as the sixth monarch of the Ban Phlu Luang dynasty, marking a significant chapter in the Ayutthaya Kingdom's storied past.

His reign, which lasted from the year seventeen fifty-eight until the fall of Ayutthaya on April seventh, seventeen sixty-seven, was characterized by both challenges and resilience. Ekkathat was known to his subjects as 'Khun Luang Khiruean,' a title that reflected his struggle with a skin condition, which earned him the nickname 'the king with skin disease.'

Despite the adversities he faced, Ekkathat's leadership during a tumultuous period in Thai history remains noteworthy. His legacy is intertwined with the final days of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, a time marked by both cultural richness and impending decline.
