Ekta Kapoor

Ekta Kapoor, born on June seventh, nineteen seventy-five, is a prominent Indian television and film producer, renowned for her significant contributions to Hindi television and Bollywood cinema. As the founder of Balaji Telefilms Limited, she holds the positions of joint managing director and creative head, steering the company to remarkable success.

Beginning her career at the tender age of seventeen, Kapoor quickly gained recognition for producing a plethora of popular television soap operas during the late nineties and early two-thousands. Her landmark achievement came in two thousand with the launch of 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' on StarPlus, which achieved an unprecedented television rating point of twenty-two point four, making it the most successful Indian serial of its time. Following this, she produced other hits like 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii' and 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', solidifying her title as the Queen of Indian television.

In two thousand one, she expanded her empire by launching Balaji Motion Pictures, a subsidiary focused on film production and distribution. Through this venture, Kapoor has produced several acclaimed Hindi films, including 'The Dirty Picture', 'Lootera', and 'Dream Girl'. In April two thousand seventeen, she introduced ALTBalaji, a video on demand platform, although she and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, stepped down from its operations in two thousand twenty-two.
