Eldor Shomurodov

Eldor Shomurodov, born on June 29, 1995, is a prominent Uzbek professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for İstanbul Başakşehir in the Süper Lig, on loan from Serie A club Roma. He also holds the esteemed position of captain for the Uzbekistan national team, showcasing his leadership on the international stage.

Shomurodov's football journey began in his homeland, where he played for Mash'al Mubarek and Bunyodkor. His talent soon took him to the Russian Premier League, where he spent three years with Rostov, further honing his skills. In 2020, he made a significant move to Genoa in Serie A for eight million euros, and just a year later, he transferred to Roma for seventeen and a half million euros, followed by loan spells at Spezia and Cagliari.

On the international front, Shomurodov made his mark by helping the Uzbekistan under-20 team reach the quarter-finals of the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He made his full international debut later that same year and represented Uzbekistan at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
