She has made her mark as a model, beauty pageant contestant, executive producer, actor, and film director. Semikina gained significant recognition when she was crowned Miss Universe Canada in two thousand ten, a title she earned in Toronto, Ontario, on June fourteenth of that year.

Her journey in the beauty pageant world culminated in her representation of Canada at the Miss Universe two thousand ten pageant, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August twenty-third. Beyond her pageantry, Semikina has ventured into the film industry, notably conceiving and executive-producing the feature documentary film 'Our Man in Tehran,' which explores the Iran Hostage Crisis.
