Eli Pasquale

Eli Pasquale, born on August 24, 1960, is celebrated as one of the finest basketball players in Canadian history. His remarkable journey began at the University of Victoria, where he led the team to five consecutive national championships and became the all-time leading scorer upon graduation. His exceptional talent earned him the Mike Moser Trophy in 1984, recognizing him as the male Canadian university player of the year.

Pasquale's prowess on the court extended to the international stage, where he proudly represented Canada as the starting point guard and co-captain of the men's national basketball team. He competed in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, showcasing his skills at two World Student Games, four FIBA World Championships, and two Pan American Games.

In 1984, he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics as the one hundred sixth overall pick, marking the beginning of his professional career. Pasquale went on to play in various countries, including Argentina, West Germany, and Switzerland, further solidifying his legacy in the sport.

Throughout his university career, Pasquale was recognized as a three-time First-Team All-Canadian from 1981 to 1984. He was named the CIAU national tournament MVP twice and earned all-star honors three times during the tournament. His contributions to the Canada West conference were equally impressive, as he was a five-time first team all-star.
