Elissa Slotkin

Elissa Slotkin, born on July tenth, nineteen seventy-six, is a prominent American politician and civil servant currently serving as the junior United States senator from Michigan since two thousand twenty-five. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously represented Michigan's eighth congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from two thousand nineteen to two thousand twenty-five.

Before her political career, Slotkin was an accomplished intelligence analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and held various positions within the Department of Defense. She concluded her tenure there as the acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, showcasing her expertise in national security and defense matters.

In two thousand eighteen, Slotkin made her mark in politics by winning a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Her political journey continued to ascend when she was elected to the Senate in two thousand twenty-four, defeating Republican nominee Mike Rogers in a closely contested race. This victory made her the second female senator from Michigan, following Debbie Stabenow.
