Eliza Reid

Eliza Reid is a distinguished Canadian-Icelandic writer and journalist, known for her impactful contributions to literature and media. Born in 1976, she has carved a niche for herself in the literary world, showcasing her talent through various platforms.

From 2016 to 2024, Eliza served as the First Lady of Iceland, a role she embraced through her marriage to Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, the President of Iceland. This position allowed her to further promote Icelandic culture and literature on an international stage.

Before her tenure as First Lady, Eliza co-founded the Iceland Writers Retreat, an initiative that has become a significant event for writers seeking inspiration and guidance.
