Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Elizabeth Stride

Elizabeth Stride, born on November twenty-seventh, eighteen forty-three, was a domestic worker and tinsmith whose life was tragically cut short. She is infamously recognized as the third victim of the notorious serial killer known as Jack the Ripper, who terrorized the Whitechapel and Spitalfields districts of London from late August to early November eighteen eighty-eight.

Unlike the other canonical victims of the Ripper, Stride's body was not mutilated after her murder, which has led some historians to question whether she was indeed a victim of the same killer. However, her murder occurred less than one hour before that of Catherine Eddowes, the Ripper's fourth victim, and within walking distance of the crime scene. It is believed that Stride's murder was interrupted by an individual arriving on a two-wheeled cart.

Both women suffered fatal slash wounds to the throat, which has led most researchers to include Stride among the Ripper's five canonical victims. Stride was affectionately nicknamed 'Long Liz,' a moniker that may have derived from her married surname or could reference her height or facial structure.
