Elizaveta Mukasei

Elizaveta Ivanovna Mukasei, born on March 21, 1912, in Ufa, was a prominent Soviet spy known by her codename, Elza. Her life was marked by a series of daring undercover operations that spanned several decades, primarily in Western Europe and the United States.

Throughout the 1940s to the 1970s, Elizaveta collaborated closely with her husband, Mikhail Mukasei, who operated under the codename Zephyr. Together, they navigated the complexities of espionage during a tumultuous period in history, contributing significantly to Soviet intelligence efforts.

Elizaveta's remarkable career in espionage came to an end with her passing on September 19, 2009, in Moscow, at the age of ninety-seven. Her husband, Mikhail, preceded her in death, passing away on August 19, 2008, at the age of one hundred and one.
