Ellison Onizuka

Ellison Onizuka was a distinguished American astronaut, engineer, and U.S. Air Force flight test engineer, born on June twenty-fourth, nineteen forty-six, in Kealakekua, Hawaii. His remarkable journey in aerospace began with his education in engineering, which laid the foundation for a career that would see him break barriers and achieve historic milestones.

Onizuka made his mark in history as the first Asian American and the first individual of Japanese ancestry to travel into space. He accomplished this significant feat aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery during mission STS-51-C.
