Ellsworth Vines

Henry Ellsworth Vines Jr., born on September 28, 1911, was a prominent American tennis player who made his mark in the 1930s. He achieved the remarkable feat of being ranked World No. 1, either as a solo player or co-No. 1, during the years of 1932 as an amateur and from 1934 to 1937 as a professional. His exceptional talent on the court led him to secure three Grand Slam titles, including the U.S. National Championships in 1931 and 1932, as well as the prestigious Wimbledon Championships in 1932.
