Elsa Cayat

Elsa Cayat, born on March ninth, nineteen sixty, was a multifaceted French professional known for her contributions as a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and journalist. Her career spanned various fields, including non-fiction writing and caricature, showcasing her diverse talents and deep understanding of human psychology.

As a columnist for the renowned satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, Elsa brought her unique perspective to the forefront of French media. Her work resonated with many, reflecting her commitment to addressing societal issues through humor and critique.

Tragically, Elsa was one of the twelve victims of the Charlie Hebdo shooting in January twenty fifteen. In this horrific event, she lost her life alongside seven journalists, a maintenance worker, a visitor, and two police officers. Notably, she was the only woman among the Charlie Hebdo staff to perish in the attack, and one of two Jewish individuals killed, alongside Georges Wolinski.
