Emanuel Herrera, born on April 13, 1987, is an Argentine footballer renowned for his role as a striker. His journey in football began in the youth ranks of Rosario Central, where he honed his skills for six years, although he never made his debut for the first team. Seeking more opportunities, he embarked on a series of loans to clubs such as Chacarita Juniors, Sportivo Italiano, and Patronato in the Argentine second division.
In pursuit of greater prospects, Herrera moved to Chile, joining Deportes Concepción. It was here that he truly made his mark, establishing himself as a key player. His remarkable performance in the 2011 season, where he netted twenty-nine goals in thirty-nine matches, led to a transfer to Unión Española. During his brief stint, he became the top scorer of the 2012 Torneo Apertura and made a significant impact in the 2012 Copa Libertadores, scoring five goals.
His impressive form caught the attention of Montpellier, who acquired him for the sum of three million five hundred thousand dollars. Herrera spent two seasons in France, but after a challenging start to the 2013–14 season, he was loaned to Tigres, where he enjoyed success, winning the Copa MX.
Following his time in Mexico, Herrera signed with Emelec, where he played for three seasons, scoring twenty-one goals in seventy-eight matches and winning the Campeonato Ecuatoriano in both 2014 and 2015. In 2017, he continued his career on loan, first with Peruvian club FBC Melgar and then with Mexican club Lobos BUAP, further showcasing his versatility and talent on the field.
