Emanuel Pastreich

Emanuel Pastreich, born on October sixteenth, nineteen sixty-four, is a distinguished American academic and writer, renowned for his expertise in international relations. He serves as the president of the Asia Institute, a prominent think tank with a global presence, including offices in Washington DC, Tokyo, Seoul, and Hanoi. His extensive knowledge and experience in Asian studies have positioned him as a leading voice in discussions surrounding East Asian classical literature and contemporary issues in technology and international relations.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Pastreich briefly entered the political arena as an independent candidate for the presidency of the United States in two thousand twenty. In September two thousand twenty-three, he announced his candidacy for the Green Party’s presidential nomination for the upcoming election in two thousand twenty-four. However, he faced challenges in securing financial backing within the party, leading him to withdraw from the Green nomination while continuing his campaign as an Independent.

Currently, Pastreich holds the position of director at the Center for Truth Politics at Green Liberty, where he continues to advocate for the importance of Asia in U.S. policy.
