Damián Emiliano "Emi" Martínez Romero, born on September 2, 1992, is an esteemed Argentine professional footballer renowned for his exceptional skills as a goalkeeper. Currently, he plays for Premier League club Aston Villa and represents the Argentina national team. Martínez has earned a reputation as a specialist in saving penalty kicks, often being hailed as one of the finest goalkeepers in the world.

Martínez began his football journey in the youth ranks of Independiente before making a significant move to Arsenal in 2010. Initially serving as a backup, he was loaned to various clubs, gaining valuable experience. His breakthrough came in 2019 when he secured a starting position, contributing to Arsenal's triumph in the FA Cup and FA Community Shield.
