Emilie Snethlage, born on April thirteenth, eighteen sixty-eight, was a distinguished German-born Brazilian naturalist and ornithologist. Her remarkable career spanned several decades, during which she dedicated herself to the study of the bird fauna of the Amazon. From nineteen oh five until her passing, Snethlage immersed herself in the rich biodiversity of Brazil, making significant contributions to the field of ornithology.
