His political journey began after he served as Minister of Economics and Finance under President François Hollande from two thousand fourteen to two thousand sixteen, where he implemented several business-friendly reforms.

Macron's academic background includes studying philosophy at Paris Nanterre University, earning a master's degree in public affairs from Sciences Po, and graduating from the École nationale d'administration in two thousand four. His career path led him to work as a senior civil servant at the General Inspectorate of Finance and as an investment banker at Rothschild & Co. He was appointed as Élysée deputy secretary-general by Hollande after the two thousand twelve presidential election, which set the stage for his later political ambitions.

In the two thousand seventeen presidential election, Macron, running under the banner of his centrist and pro-European political movement, En Marche, won with sixty-six percent of the second-round vote against Marine Le Pen.
