Emperor Go-Hanazono

Emperor Go-Hanazono, born on July 10, 1419, was the 102nd emperor of Japan, recognized in the traditional order of succession. His reign, which lasted from 1428 to 1464, marked a significant period in the history of the Japanese imperial lineage.

Named in honor of the 14th-century Emperor Hanazono, Go-Hanazono's title includes the prefix 'go-' (後), meaning 'later'. This designation allows him to be referred to as the 'Later Emperor Hanazono'. In some historical texts, he is also identified as 'Hanazono, the second' or 'Hanazono II', reflecting his connection to his predecessor.
