Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Empress Dowager Longyu

Yehe Nara Jingfen, born on January twenty-eighth, eighteen sixty-eight, was a prominent figure in Chinese history, known as Empress Dowager Longyu. She hailed from the Manchu Bordered Yellow Banner Yehe Nara clan and became the empress consort of Zaitian, the Guangxu Emperor, in eighteen eighty-nine. Her tenure as empress consort lasted until her husband's death in nineteen oh eight, after which she was honored with the title Empress Dowager Longyu.

Following the death of the Guangxu Emperor, Longyu took on the significant role of regent during the minority of her nephew, Puyi, the Xuantong Emperor. This period, from nineteen oh eight to nineteen twelve, was marked by her efforts to navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing political landscape in China.

One of her most notable actions was signing the letter of abdication on behalf of the young emperor, which effectively brought an end to over two thousand years of imperial rule in China.
