Ennio Antonelli, born on November eighteenth, nineteen thirty-six, is a distinguished Italian prelate of the Catholic Church. His extensive career spans several decades, during which he has made significant contributions as a theologian, university teacher, and priest.
Ordained as a bishop in nineteen eighty-two, Antonelli served as the bishop of Gubbio until nineteen eighty-eight. He then took on the role of archbishop of Perugia from nineteen eighty-eight to nineteen ninety-five, before becoming the archbishop of Florence, a position he held from two thousand one to two thousand eight.
In addition to his episcopal duties, Antonelli was appointed president of the Pontifical Council for the Family, serving from two thousand eight to two thousand twelve.
