Epaphroditus

Epaphroditus, a notable figure in the New Testament, served as an envoy for the Philippian church, providing vital assistance to the Apostle Paul. His role is highlighted in the biblical text of Philippians 2:25-30, where he is recognized for his dedication and service.

Regarded as a saint in both the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church, Epaphroditus is celebrated for his contributions to early Christianity. He is often identified as the first Bishop of Philippi, a significant position that underscores his influence in the early church.

In addition to his role in Philippi, Epaphroditus is also associated with the ancient towns of Andriaca, located in both Thrace and Asia Minor, as well as Terracina in Italy. However, historical evidence regarding these associations remains uncertain, leading to some debate among scholars about whether these references pertain to the same individual.
