Eric McCormack, a talented Canadian and American actor, was born on April eighteenth, nineteen sixty-three, in Toronto. He began his acting journey in high school, which paved the way for his future career. In nineteen eighty-five, he left Ryerson University to join the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where he honed his craft over five years through various stage productions.

In the late nineteen nineties, McCormack moved to Los Angeles, where he took on minor roles in several television series, including Top Cops and Ally McBeal. His breakthrough came with the iconic role of Will Truman in the NBC sitcom Will & Grace, which premiered in September nineteen ninety-eight. This role not only brought him worldwide recognition but also earned him six Golden Globe nominations and four Emmy nominations, culminating in a Primetime Emmy Award win for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in two thousand one.

Beyond television, McCormack made his Broadway debut in the two thousand one production of The Music Man and starred in the two thousand five film The Sisters.
