Erik Johnson

Erik Johnson, born on March 21, 1988, is a distinguished American former professional ice hockey defenseman who made a significant impact in the National Hockey League (NHL) over a remarkable seventeen-season career. Known affectionately as the 'Condor', Johnson was the first overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, selected by the St. Louis Blues. His journey in the NHL began in 2007 when he joined the Blues, showcasing his skills and determination on the ice.

After a successful stint with St. Louis, Johnson was traded to the Colorado Avalanche in 2011, where he would spend the next thirteen seasons. During his time with the Avalanche, he played a pivotal role in the team's success, culminating in a Stanley Cup victory in 2022. His contributions to the sport extended beyond the NHL, as he proudly represented the United States in various international tournaments.

Before entering the NHL, Johnson honed his skills with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program and spent a season at the University of Minnesota. His dedication and talent were evident from an early age, setting the stage for a successful professional career.
