Erik Lamela

Erik Lamela, born on March 4, 1992, is a former Argentine professional footballer renowned for his versatility as an attacking midfielder and right winger. After a successful playing career, he has transitioned into coaching and currently serves as an assistant coach at La Liga club Sevilla.

Lamela's football journey began at River Plate, where he showcased his talent before making a significant move to Roma in 2011 for an initial fee of twelve million euros. His time in Serie A was marked by impressive performances, which paved the way for his transfer to the Premier League, where he joined Tottenham Hotspur for twenty-five point eight million pounds.

During his eight seasons at Tottenham, Lamela made over two hundred and fifty appearances and played a crucial role in the team's journey to the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. Following his tenure in England, he had stints at Sevilla, where he celebrated winning the UEFA Europa League in 2023, and AEK Athens before retiring from professional football in 2025.

On the international stage, Lamela represented Argentina from 2011 to 2018, contributing to the national team's efforts in the Copa América, where they finished as runners-up in both the 2015 and 2016 tournaments.
