Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Erik Pieters

Erik Pieters, born on August 7, 1988, is a Dutch professional footballer known for his versatility on the field, playing as both a left-back and centre-back. He began his football journey with Utrecht, where he made a notable professional debut in August 2006. His impressive performances at Stadion Galgenwaard caught the attention of PSV Eindhoven, leading to a transfer in July 2008 for a fee of two and a half million euros.

During his time at PSV, Pieters achieved significant success, winning the Johan Cruijff Shield in 2008 and the KNVB Beker in the 2011-12 season. His talent earned him a regular spot on the Dutch national team, although injuries in the 2012-13 season hindered his progress. In June 2013, he made a move to English football, signing with Stoke City for a fee of three point six million euros.

Pieters enjoyed a six-year stint with Stoke City, making 206 appearances and establishing himself as a key player. In July 2019, he transitioned to Burnley, and later, in September 2022, he joined Championship club West Bromwich Albion for a two-season contract. His career took another turn with a brief spell at Luton Town, where he did not make a first-team appearance, before signing with Derby County in late March 2025 until the end of the season, ultimately leaving the club in June 2025.
