Ese Brume

Ese Brume, born on January seventeenth, nineteen ninety-six, is a distinguished Nigerian athlete renowned for her exceptional skills in long jump and sprinting. She has made a significant mark in the athletics world, currently holding the title of Commonwealth champion and boasting an impressive record as a three-time African senior champion. With a personal best jump of seven point seventeen meters, she has set multiple records, including the Commonwealth Games record, the African junior record, and the African record in long jump.

Brume's athletic prowess is further highlighted by her achievements on the global stage. She is a two-time medalist at the World Athletics Championships and an Olympic bronze medalist. Notably, she is the only athlete to have won three consecutive long jump titles at the African Championships in Athletics, and she made history as the first African to secure two long jump medals at the World Athletics Championships.

Her journey in athletics began with a gold medal at the 2013 African Junior Athletics Championships, followed by victories at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2014 African Senior Athletics Championships. Brume also represented Nigeria at the World Junior Championships in Athletics in 2014, showcasing her talent early on.

In the 2016 Olympic Games, she placed fifth in the long jump final with a leap of six point eighty-one meters. Brume continued to excel, winning bronze medals at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, with jumps of six point ninety-one meters and six point ninety-seven meters, respectively. In 2022, she made history as the first African woman to achieve four legal jumps over seven point zero meters.
