Desmond Daniel Amofah, widely recognized as Etika, was an influential American YouTuber and live streamer born on May 12, 1990. He gained fame for his vibrant and dramatic reactions to video game trailers, particularly those related to the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Residing in Brooklyn, New York City, Etika's unique personality and engaging content captivated a large audience, leading to the creation of his main YouTube channel, 'EWNetwork' (Etika World Network), in 2012.

Etika's fanbase, affectionately known as the 'JOYCONBOYZ', emerged as he rose to prominence following the release of Super Smash Bros. 4. His content was a mix of playthroughs, reaction videos, and pre-recorded segments, which collectively garnered over one million subscribers and an impressive one hundred forty-six million views across his various channels.

However, the latter part of Etika's life was marked by significant mental health struggles. Between October 2018 and May 2019, he exhibited alarming signs of distress, including threats of suicide and erratic behavior. This period saw the termination of his EWNetwork channel due to inappropriate content, and he faced multiple hospitalizations. Despite attempts to reconnect with his audience through a new channel, 'EtikaFRFX', he continued to struggle with his mental health.

Tragically, on June 20, 2019, Etika was reported missing after posting a heartfelt video on his 'TR1Iceman' channel. His body was later recovered from the East River, and authorities confirmed his death as a suicide by drowning on June 25. The news of his passing sent shockwaves through the online community, prompting widespread mourning and reflection on the importance of mental health awareness.
