Eugenia Kumacheva

Eugenia Kumacheva, born in nineteen fifty-five, is a distinguished University Professor of Chemistry at the University of Toronto. Her extensive research interests encompass fundamental and applied polymer science, nanotechnology, microfluidics, and interface chemistry, making her a prominent figure in the scientific community.

In recognition of her groundbreaking work, Kumacheva was honored with the L'Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science in two thousand eight. This accolade was awarded for her innovative design and development of new materials that have significant applications, including targeted drug delivery systems for cancer treatments and materials for high-density optical data storage.

In two thousand eleven, she co-authored a book titled 'Microfluidic Reactors for Polymer Particles' with Piotr Garstecki, further contributing to the field of polymer science. Additionally, she holds the prestigious position of Canadian Research Chair in Advanced Polymer Materials (Tier 1), underscoring her leadership in research and education.
