Euphrosyne of Polotsk, born in the year one thousand one hundred four, was a remarkable figure in the history of Eastern Orthodoxy. As the granddaughter of Vseslav, the esteemed prince of Polotsk, and the daughter of Prince Svyatoslav (Georgy) Vseslavich of Vitebsk, her lineage was steeped in nobility and influence.
Throughout her life, Euphrosyne became a beloved saint among Orthodox Christians, particularly in the regions of Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia. Her legacy is celebrated annually on May twenty-third, a day that holds significant meaning for her devotees.
