Eutychius of Constantinople

Eutychius of Constantinople, born around five hundred twelve, was a prominent figure in the Eastern Orthodox Church, serving as the patriarch of Constantinople during two significant periods: from five hundred fifty-two to five hundred sixty-five and again from five hundred seventy-seven until his death on April fifth, five hundred eighty-two.

His tenure as patriarch coincided with the reign of Emperor Justinian I, a time marked by notable controversies involving both imperial and papal authority. Eutychius navigated these turbulent waters with a commitment to his faith and the church, earning recognition as a saint in both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions.
