Evan Jager

Evan Jager, born on March eighth, nineteen eighty-nine, is a distinguished American middle- and long-distance runner, renowned for his expertise in the 3000 metres steeplechase. His athletic journey began at the University of Wisconsin, but after just one year, he turned professional and moved to Portland, where he trained under the guidance of Jerry Schumacher at the Bowerman Track Club.

Jager made his mark in the world of athletics by qualifying for his first world championships in two thousand nine, competing in the 5000 meters. However, it was in two thousand twelve that he debuted in the steeplechase, an event that would define his career. In his inaugural year, he not only won the US Olympic Trials but also broke the American record and secured a sixth-place finish at the London Olympics.

After facing challenges in the following years, including fifth and sixth place finishes at the World Championships in two thousand thirteen and two thousand fifteen, Jager achieved remarkable success at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in two thousand sixteen, where he won a silver medal.
