Évelyne de la Chenelière

Évelyne de la Chenelière, born in 1975, is a multifaceted Canadian writer and actress renowned for her contributions to theater and literature. She gained significant acclaim for her play Désordre public, which earned the prestigious Governor General's Award for French-language drama in two thousand six. Additionally, her work on Bashir Lazhar served as the screenplay foundation for the acclaimed film Monsieur Lazhar, released in two thousand eleven.

Her educational journey began at Villa Maria College, where she graduated in nineteen ninety-two, followed by studies at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. Évelyne further honed her craft in modern literature at the Sorbonne and theater at the École Michel-Granvale in Paris, enriching her artistic perspective.

As an actress, de la Chenelière has showcased her talent in various films, including Monsieur Lazhar, Days of Darkness (L'Âge des ténèbres), Another House (L'autre maison), Café de Flore, Laughter (Le Rire), Mademoiselle Kenopsia, and Paradise.
