Eystein Magnusson

Eystein Magnusson, also known as Eystein I, was born around the year one thousand eighty-eight and ascended to the throne as King of Norway in one thousand one hundred three. He ruled alongside his half-brother Sigurd the Crusader and, for a brief period, his other half-brother Olaf Magnusson, who died young. Eystein's reign lasted until his death in August one thousand one hundred twenty-three, marking a significant era in Norwegian history.

Unlike his brother Sigurd, who earned the title of the 'warrior king' due to his famed crusade to the Holy Land, Eystein was celebrated as the 'peace king.'
