Currently, he showcases his skills at Grêmio, a prominent club in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, while also representing the Paraguay national team.

Balbuena's football journey began in the Paraguayan Primera División, where he played for notable clubs such as Cerro Porteño PF, Rubio Ñu, Nacional, and Libertad.
