Fabian Manning

Fabian Manning, born on May twenty-first, nineteen sixty-four, is a prominent figure in Newfoundland and Labrador's political landscape. His career began in provincial politics, where he served as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party and later as an independent Member of the House of Assembly for the district of Placentia and St. Mary’s from nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand five.

Transitioning to federal politics, Manning represented the riding of Avalon as a Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party of Canada from two thousand six to two thousand eight. Following his defeat in the two thousand eight federal election, he was appointed to the Senate of Canada on January second, two thousand nine. However, his tenure in the Senate was brief, as he resigned on March twenty-eighth, two thousand eleven, to pursue a return to the House of Commons in the Avalon riding during the two thousand eleven federal election, though he was unsuccessful in this bid.
