Farouk of Egypt

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Farouk of Egypt

Farouk of Egypt, born on February eleventh, nineteen twenty, was the tenth ruler of Egypt from the Muhammad Ali dynasty and the penultimate King of Egypt and the Sudan. He ascended to the throne in nineteen thirty-six, following the reign of his father, Fuad I. His full title was 'His Majesty Farouk I, by the grace of God, King of Egypt and the Sudan'.

Known for his extravagant lifestyle, Farouk initially enjoyed popularity among his subjects. However, as time passed, his reputation suffered due to the corruption and incompetence that plagued his government. This decline in public favor ultimately led to his overthrow in a military coup in nineteen fifty-two, forcing him to abdicate in favor of his infant son, Ahmed Fuad, who would later be known as Fuad II.

Farouk's reign came to an end in exile, where he spent his final years in Italy, passing away in nineteen sixty-five. His legacy is further complicated by familial ties, including his sister, Princess Fawzia bint Fuad, who became the first wife and consort of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran.
