Farrokhroo Parsa, born on March twenty-second, nineteen twenty-two, was a pioneering Iranian physician and politician who made significant contributions to education and women's rights in Iran. As an educator, she dedicated her life to improving the educational landscape of her country, advocating for the empowerment of women through knowledge and learning.
Parsa's political career reached a historic milestone when she became the first female cabinet minister in Iran, serving as the Minister of Education under Prime Minister Amir Abbas Hoveida. Her appointment marked a significant step forward for women's representation in the Iranian government, and she used her platform to champion the rights of women, pushing for reforms that would benefit future generations.
However, her progressive beliefs and outspoken advocacy for women's rights put her at odds with the changing political climate during the Islamic Cultural Revolution. Tragically, on May eighth, nineteen eighty, Parsa was executed by firing squad in Tehran, a victim of her unwavering commitment to feminism and equality.
