Fat Mike

Michael John Burkett, widely recognized by his stage name Fat Mike, was born on January 16, 1967. He is an influential figure in the American punk rock scene, known for his dynamic role as the bassist and lead vocalist of the iconic band NOFX. His journey in music began in 1982 with his first band, False Alarm, setting the stage for a prolific career that would see him become a staple in the genre.

As a cofounder of the punk rock supergroup Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Fat Mike has showcased his versatility and passion for music. Throughout the years, he and NOFX rhythm guitarist Eric Melvin have remained the only constant members in the band's lineup, contributing to its enduring legacy in punk rock.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Burkett is the founder and owner of Fat Wreck Chords, a record label that has played a significant role in promoting punk rock artists. His unique style of playing bass with a guitar pick has become a defining characteristic of his musical identity.
