Federico Franco

Federico Franco, born on July twenty-four, nineteen sixty-two, is a prominent Paraguayan politician and accomplished surgeon. He served as the President of Paraguay from June two thousand twelve until August two thousand thirteen, stepping into the role following the impeachment of his predecessor, Fernando Lugo.

A member of the Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA), Franco was elected as Vice President in the two thousand eight presidential election, taking office in August of that year. His political journey includes serving as the Governor of Central Department from two thousand three to two thousand eight, and he has held the position of chairman of the PLRA.

Franco's political lineage is notable; he is the brother of Julio César Franco, a senator and former chairman of the PLRA, as well as a former Vice President. This familial connection underscores a legacy of political engagement within Paraguay.
