Feleknas Uca

Feleknas Uca, born on September seventeenth, nineteen seventy-six, is a prominent German politician of Kurdish Yazidi descent. Her political career is marked by her significant contributions as a member of the European Parliament from Germany, where she served from nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand nine with the political party Die Linke.

Uca made history as one of the first Yazidi parliamentarians in the world, holding this distinction until the Iraqi legislature was elected in two thousand five. Her groundbreaking role has paved the way for greater representation of minority groups in politics.

In addition to her tenure in the European Parliament, Feleknas Uca has also served as a member of the Turkish parliament, representing the Batman constituency for the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).
