Femke Heemskerk

Femke Heemskerk, born on September twenty-first, nineteen eighty-seven, is a distinguished former Dutch competitive swimmer renowned for her expertise in freestyle swimming. In addition to her freestyle prowess, she has demonstrated remarkable skills in backstroke and medley events, showcasing her versatility in the pool.

As a key member of the Dutch national team, Heemskerk has made her mark in the swimming world by holding the short course world record in the 4 × 50 m freestyle relay. She also previously held records in the 4 × 100 m and 4 × 200 m freestyle relays, all of which were set during the World Championships in Doha in two thousand fourteen.

Individually, Heemskerk has shattered national records across six events, including four in long course: the 100 m and 200 m freestyle, 100 m backstroke, and 200 m individual medley. Additionally, she has set two short course records in the 200 m freestyle and the 200 m individual medley, further solidifying her status as one of the top swimmers in her country.
