Fernando Arrabal

Fernando Arrabal, born on August eleventh, nineteen thirty-two in Melilla, is a multifaceted Spanish artist known for his contributions as a playwright, screenwriter, film director, novelist, and poet. After relocating to France in nineteen fifty-five, Arrabal embraced a unique identity, describing himself as 'desterrado', a term that encapsulates his experience as both half-expatriate and half-exiled.

Throughout his prolific career, Arrabal has directed seven full-length feature films and authored an impressive body of work that includes over one hundred plays, fourteen novels, and eight hundred poetry collections, chapbooks, and artists' books. His complete plays have been published in a two-volume edition exceeding two thousand pages, translated into multiple languages, showcasing his global impact on literature and theatre.

In nineteen sixty-two, he co-founded the Panic Movement alongside Alejandro Jodorowsky and Roland Topor, drawing inspiration from the mythological figure Pan. His artistic journey also led him to be elected as the Transcendent Satrap of the Collège de Pataphysique in nineteen ninety, joining the ranks of notable figures such as Marcel Duchamp and Eugène Ionesco.
