Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Fernando Pereira

Fernando Pereira, born on May tenth, nineteen fifty, was a passionate Portuguese-Dutch freelance photographer and dedicated environmentalist. His life was marked by a commitment to documenting the beauty of the natural world and advocating for its protection.

Tragically, Pereira's life was cut short on July tenth, nineteen eighty-five, when he drowned as a result of a bombing orchestrated by French intelligence (DGSE). The attack targeted the Rainbow Warrior, a ship owned by Greenpeace, which was actively protesting against French nuclear testing in the Pacific.

The first explosion, a smaller bomb, damaged the vessel's propeller shaft, rendering it economically unrepairable. Despite the danger, Pereira remained on board to retrieve his camera and equipment. The subsequent, more powerful explosion caused a catastrophic influx of seawater, leading to his untimely death.

At the time of the attack, the Rainbow Warrior was preparing to embark from Auckland for a series of legal demonstrations in international waters near the French military's operational areas at Moruroa Atoll. Pereira's legacy continues to inspire environmental activism and highlights the risks faced by those who stand up for their beliefs.
