Filippo Volandri

Filippo Volandri, born on September 5, 1981, is a distinguished Italian tennis coach and former professional player. He embarked on his professional journey in 1997, showcasing his talent on the ATP tour and achieving remarkable success throughout his career.

Volandri reached a career-high singles ranking of world number 25 in July 2007, a testament to his skill and determination. Over the course of his career, he earned nearly four million dollars in prize money, securing two ATP titles from a total of nine finals.

One of the highlights of his playing career came in 2007 when he achieved a stunning victory over Roger Federer, the world number one, at the Italian Open. This victory remains a significant milestone in his legacy as a player.

After retiring from professional tennis in 2017, Volandri transitioned into coaching. In 2021, he took on the role of captain of the Italian national team, leading them to an unprecedented three consecutive Davis Cup victories in 2023, 2024, and 2025, setting a new international record.
