Finn E. Kydland

Finn E. Kydland, born on December first, nineteen forty-three, is a distinguished Norwegian economist renowned for his pivotal contributions to business cycle theory. Currently, he serves as the Henley Professor of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he imparts his extensive knowledge to the next generation of economists.

In addition to his role at UCSB, Kydland holds the prestigious Richard P. Simmons Distinguished Professorship at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, where he completed his PhD. His academic journey also includes a part-time position at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), further solidifying his influence in the field of economics.

Kydland's groundbreaking work in dynamic macroeconomics earned him the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics in two thousand four, which he shared with Edward C. Prescott.
