Fintan McCarthy

Fintan McCarthy, born on November twenty-third, nineteen ninety-six, is a distinguished Irish lightweight rower known for his remarkable achievements in the sport. He has earned the title of Irish national champion and has made his mark on the international stage as a world champion and double Olympic gold medallist.

McCarthy's most notable accomplishments include winning the men's lightweight double sculls championship title alongside his teammate Paul O'Donovan at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. Their exceptional performance not only secured them the championship but also set the stage for their historic success at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

At the Tokyo Olympics, McCarthy and O'Donovan delivered an outstanding performance, clinching the gold medal while setting a new world's best time for the lightweight double sculls event.
