Florence Baverel-Robert

Florence Baverel-Robert, born on May 24, 1974, in Pontarlier, Doubs, is a distinguished retired French biathlete and cross-country skier. She made her mark in the world of winter sports by competing in the biathlon at the 2006 Winter Olympics held in Turin, Italy, where she showcased her exceptional talent.

At the Olympics, Baverel-Robert achieved remarkable success, clinching the gold medal in the women's 7.5 km sprint. Her performance was commendable across various events, as she placed 26th in the women's 15 km individual event, secured 5th in the 12.5 km mass start, and finished 13th in the 10 km pursuit final.

In her personal life, Florence married fellow French biathlete Julien Robert, and together they welcomed a daughter named Rose. However, the couple eventually divorced.

After an impressive career, Baverel-Robert concluded her journey in professional biathlon at the end of the 2006-07 World Cup season, where she achieved her best career result by finishing in 5th place in the overall standings.
