Florence Harding

Florence Harding, born on August fifteenth, eighteen sixty, was a multifaceted individual who made significant contributions as a politician, shop assistant, piano teacher, and business manager. She became the First Lady of the United States from nineteen twenty-one until her husband's death in nineteen twenty-three, standing by President Warren G. Harding during a pivotal time in American history.

Initially, Florence pursued a career as a concert pianist, but her life took a different turn when she eloped with her first husband in eighteen eighty. The couple welcomed a son but divorced in eighteen eighty-six. In eighteen ninety-one, she married Warren G. Harding, and together they managed The Marion Star, a local newspaper. Their partnership was not without challenges, as Warren's infidelities led Florence to contemplate divorce on several occasions.

Despite these personal trials, Florence was a steadfast supporter of her husband's political ambitions, providing him with advice and guidance throughout his career. As First Lady, she was one of the most visible figures in the role for decades, advocating for women's rights, animal rights, and prohibition. She also took measures to protect both her and her husband's public images during a time of great scrutiny.
