Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Floyd Landis

Floyd Landis, born on October 14, 1975, is a former American professional road racing cyclist known for his all-around skills in climbing, time-trialing, and descending. He began his professional career in 1999 with the Mercury Cycling Team and later joined the U.S. Postal Service team in 2002, before moving to the Phonak Hearing Systems team in 2005.

Landis gained significant attention during the 2006 Tour de France, where he was poised to become the third non-European winner in the event's history. However, his victory was marred by controversy when he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, leading to his disqualification and the eventual win being awarded to Óscar Pereiro.

In January 2010, a French judge issued a national arrest warrant for Landis due to computer hacking charges related to the doping allegations from the 2006 Tour de France. Despite maintaining his innocence and presenting inconsistencies in the handling of his urine samples, the arbitration panel upheld his disqualification, resulting in a suspension from professional competition until January 30, 2009.

Landis's professional career effectively ended in January 2011 when he was unable to secure a new team. On May 20, 2010, after years of contesting the doping allegations, he admitted to doping and revealed that many top riders, including Lance Armstrong, had also engaged in similar practices.
