Francis John Spence, born on June 3, 1926, in Perth, Ontario, was a distinguished Canadian Roman Catholic prelate. His journey in the clergy began when he was ordained as a Catholic priest on April 16, 1950, marking the start of a lifelong commitment to his faith and community.
In 1982, Spence ascended to the role of Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kingston, a position he held with dedication until his retirement in 2002. His leadership was characterized by a deep commitment to the spiritual and social needs of his congregation.
